Hook Size?

Hey folks . This one is for all you Kripple K or TKO fans .

What size hook do you use for your KK #2's. I had some 4.0 siwash and they seem way big and would make it tail heavy and drag the action down. Was thinking maybe one size smaller But thought I would see what has proven itself out there amongst you folks first. My KK"s have a welded ring so octopus are not an option unless I can find some with open eye.

Thanks: ray

Is there anything wrong with the standard hooks on the TKO's?

I have have a couple of them in my box, but did not try them out yet.

Not that I am aware of. Although I have only got a couple smaller fish on mine so far so have not really tested it.
The KK that I have was old and had I rusty little hook that looked good for trout on it so I am changing it out . Well I actually changed it with the 4.0 and it has yet to get a fish so was thinking I may be killing the action a bit.

I would run mustads 4/0 siwash, the ones that are that black/nickel colour. They have a nice offset to them and are really light and you can tend to go one size bigger than alot of hooks because they are so light.

That might be a good Idea Burnsy. I picked up a pack of the octopus in the black nickle to try on my tandem rigs for rubber. They came barb-less as well so thought I would give em a go

Love the TKO and hit a good number of winter feeders and a couple spring fish...that being said the hooks rusted up pretty quick and I cut them after a few days of swimming. Put something of similar wieght with a longer shank and its performed good as well for me. pretty sure 3/0 EClaw Oshaunessy...
