ya just go out and jig your own...nothing to it...buy some herring jigs...put two together with 8 oz weight at the bottom to keep the line tight...find the active spawn and jig away.....just use a crappy old trout rod.....usually in 20ft of water....bring a couple garbage cans....fill em up.....no problem doin that in four or five hrs... usually get 10 -12 every time the lines go in....just keep jigging till the rod's about to bust....fast n furious if you time it right....and you got bottom bait for the whole year....take em home stick 10-20 in cheap (superstore) zip locks and it works great for hali's, lings, whatever....I've even taken some of the nicer ones and used them in teaser heads....if you wanna pay $1.25 to $1.40 EACH for herring in season , your call....I get ALL my bait during the herring spawn for the last 20 yrs....just make sure you freeze them in milk crates and stack em up...don't make the mistake I did way back and just throw em in the freezer, you'll need a large chisel and a hammer to get em out.....bring lots of jigs the will only last so long...they are cheap anyway....
