Herring Plus Sealions Plus Transient Orcas Equals Quite The Show..

I missed it completely but apparently there was quite a show south of Campbell River today.

Herring spawning attracted some Sealions which were chasing/feeding on them when along came a pod of Transient Orcas who started chasing the Sealions.

I've got one pic of an Orca close to its intended victim, but nothing else.

Amazing display right along the shore at Saratoga Beach-no whales here but tons of birds, sea lions and herring

yah the wife called me and told me of the carnage. apparently tons of vehicles pulled over in front of Oyster Bay watching all the action.

WOw, wish I'd been there! We need more sea lions on the Orca's menu!!

Saw a pod of transients circling some sea lions between hornby and denman today.

If you look at the Point Holmes cam now you can see the spawn and the herring fleet.
