I thought I'd stop by haslam creek downstream of the highway to see if there was any pinks making their way up that way and was totally blown away by the absence of water.Completely dry!!!!!I've never seen that creek dried up ever.
Could this be a result of the heavy logging up around timberland lake area???

Logging doesn't help, but I've seen Haslam Creek dry before. There's lots of creeks that are dry as a bone right now. Most of the ones around Lake Cowichan are dry too. Like Meade's creek. Even the Chemainus River is down to just a trickle.

The Haslam usually dries up every year below the highway for about half a km. We try and get in there coho salvaging each year. The pinks will show up closer to the Nanaimo.
