So the time has come to make my way towards Port Hardy tomorrow morning. 5 day fishing trip is planned but I see the wind will be 25 to 30 over the next several days. Is there areas to fish out of in that kind of wind? Is it an afternoon thing only?

I talked to a guy today that said it was 12- 16 footers out side the bay. All day and its been like that since Friday.

Hope it calms down for you guys.

Im my very limited experience it defintely gets worse in the afternoon

And in my very vast experience, you cant catch em on the couch!! Good luck and be safe!

Things are toning down now, should be mostly afternoon winds by looking at the weather reports this morning. Listen to channel 3 on the weather station, Herbert Island, Scarlett Pt and Pine Island. These reports will tell you whether you are fishing outside of Hardy Bay or not but things look good starting Tuesday.

Lots of pinks, coho and a few springs on the inside of Hardy Bay. Fished it the first time yesterday and had a good time with some nice coho, springs and a ton of pinks. Fish hootchies, spoons or apex as the bait will disappear fast!!!!

Sure was windy the last few days, watched boats try to turn the corner at Duval and immediately swing back in and fall into the tack (or what ever it was called that day). A few were questionable to even try it, 17' Double eagle tried and had a wave over the bow, a 20-22' aluminum tried and was turned sideways by a wave.......a couple in the 28-30' made it but what a rough ride that would have been.

Cheers
