Try emailing Simon Kelly at Sportsman Club in Rivers Inlet riversinlet@hotmail.com

Hey Felix.....is he looking to go this year? I had some buddies who just came back from Sportsman's last weekend and it was all Coho for them with one spring mixed in over ~3 days of fishing.

I know Duncanby has a fuel dock and welcomes recreational boaters/fisher people; have sent off an e-mail to a few friends "in the know" about things up there. I have heard that Duncanby is great staff, accomodations and food.

Here is a list of some of their charges.

I could be wrong but I don't think there are all that many lodges up there.....maybe a half dozen or so?
  • Duncanby
  • Sportsmans
  • Rivers Lodge
  • Black and Gold Lodge or something like that?
  • Legacy Lodge
  • I am not sure if the "Cannery" is an actual lodge or not. I noted in that 83lber caught earlier they referred to it but wasn't sure if it was more of a "location" or if that old cannery is an actual operation?

Milbanke Sound

Felix,
i would talk your buddy into going to Shearwater and fishing Milbanke Sound area. His timing for next year will be bang on for that area.
Cheney Point, the rockpile, Idol Point, Cape Swain, McInnis Lighthouse are all good bets as well as Cape Mark, the Notch and closer to Shearwater, Purple Bluffs and Cultus Sound.
Get him to check out West Coast Resorts fishing report for Milbanke and he will see what I'm talking about. There is fuel, moorage and lodging at Searwater.
Not only a good chance for a monster Chinook but there are 20lb + Coho caught there.
Cheers!

X2 on Shearwater - been going there for 7 years - slabs at Cultus Sound is easier run south than north from Hakai and south end of Goose group is a very good bet for large Hali

If we're talking Shearwater as well.......a work colleague has been going up there for years and has always had great things to say about it.

Its not 5Star but the Dawson's dock does have 3 or 4 small cabins to rent. Looked like they were doing some clean up on them this weekend.

Good Hope, as Pippen is referring does have accomodation I believe, but I'm not sure if they offer moorage for boats other than their own. Shoot an email to TyeeSalmon1 (George Cuthbert)...he posted in the thread about the 83 lber and offered his assistance in any matters rivers inlet. I would try him first.

X3 for shearwater. Fun place to sspend time and many options for fishing. He would be perfectly timed for milbanke and risk being early for Rivers IMO

Thanks Everyone

I will look into my options for next season......those pictures were great....thanks for your help Felix.

hey Sniper

I just did that trip. I boat camped, but can help on hidey holes to escape weather/logistics/distances etc if you need

sharphooks.........Sure all the info I can get will help, I have to take my boat up the inside passage to Rupert from Vancouver next June so any hidey holes and info would be appreciated and could come in handy if I stop somewhere overnight on my way up to Rupert or when I fish Rivers in August.

Thanks
Ron C.
