A flasher, a spoon and a hoochy all in one.

Back of spoon is plaid chrome or cracked ice tape......acts like a flasher......high reflectivity.

Has red behind eye just like a hoochy.......

but it's a spoon too.

i have used nail polish to do this on a few of mine( the red anyway).. seems to work till the cohos get smashin. the eyes are a sticker that some tackle shops have..got mine at pnt. i do the same on my chartreuse chovy holders.

Scouse....

Harb.Chandler sells the chrome plaid tape by the foot. Cracked Ice tape you can get at Wholesale Sports sometimes...if they're not sold out.

Got the Glow eyes at PNT...but most tackle shops have them.

The red paint is just that model paint for plastic cars. I punched it up with a bit of orange and white mixed in. Comes in tiny little bottles. Can get at Michael's in Nan in the model section.
Stedman's in Parksville carries a few colors. I use a tiny little paint brush (finicky work).

When you put the tape on the back of certain spoons.....you might have to cut "vents" in it at the back after you put it on or you get little bubbles on the edge.

I certainly admire your craftsmanship with the detailing - very nice!
I notice the swivel between the end ring and hook? In your experience, how does this help? short bites? less spoon bending while playing a stubborn fish? less hooks turned out?

I put eyes on all my spoons but I like the idea of the tape on back. I have some digital and cracked ice.... Have to play with that fo' sho'!

Notice you have beaks on last two, do you notice difference? I prefer the beaks but that is just my preference.

I personally find those tin foil coho killers last better with a swivel on hook, but they still tear with a big fish.

Thanks for the ideas :)

Thanks....I lose less fish with the swivel on the back (when they are writhing and twisting etc). But others like them without and may disagree.

The last two hooks you mention are Mustad. I like those hooks. They are lighter than the stainless Siwash. So you can go decent size hook with out throwing the action off. Size 6 and 7 can be hard to find around.
I get them at PNT but I've bought them elsewhere as well. They hold fish well. Never had one straighten out yet.
