Now that we have buttoned up the lodges for winter we are already preparing for the 2009 Season @ Gold River Fishing Lodge and Mootcha Bay Resort. We are presently building a guide list as we have just added our 4th building to the lodge increasing our capacity by 40% and we also this year aquired Mootcha Bay Resort so with the promotions and marketing we have lined up we will require more guides next year. We already have some fantastic guides working for us but we will require more...

So if you have a 20' or larger TCA approved boat and you think you might be interested in joining our team please contact me ASAP. We will be offering excellent wages, perks, great food, accomadations and fuel discounts.

We are also looking for:
Kayak Guides
River / Fly Fishing Guides
Dive Charters

Just send me an email @ h00kedonfishing@hotmail.com

Cheers Kevin

I know this doesn't have anything to do with this thread, but I have to ask. I was going to ask when you first announced your changing jobs back in the summer.
What happened to the "dream job" working for Eaglecraft?

Dockhand is a tough job, repetitive/dull with long hours little pay/appreciation and if you think you'll be going out fishing anymore than a few times in a season you're dreaming.

It's all about work not fun, that and living in a small room with 3 or 4 other guys at least one of whom snores and two of whom stink.

One lucky guy I know had a room to himself @ one operation was a closet behind the washer/dryer they called it the Goat Pen, and it wasn't because it smelled good.[V]

Thanks to all that are responding. Sorry we don't at this time have a position for a dock hand as all of the staff assist the guests when they are docking or departing. We have a number of guests that bring there own boat and just stay at the lodge. As for our staff / guide quarters the most to a room is 2 even in the guide rooms and whenever possible we try our best to provide single rooms although that can be tough during the peak season. Guides work long hours and deserve a good nights sleep.

Cheers ME

YES you are right about a dock boy!!!!!!! dog we call ours a wharf rat and he lives in a nice 6 ft 4 inch by about 5 ft room on a sloped roof with a hibatchi grill as a window with a plywood door but it has a light and a very comfortable bed for him which has been named the "BLACK HOLE"
My first year thats where I stayed as back(15 yrs ago) then the guides would all smoke in the room which 4 bunk in and I almost died LOL LOL so it was rather nice and private.

Fun times can be had in a camp beacause as yo know you are soo tired from the day you really dont care where you sleep as long as it is warm and dry.
