Hi everyone. I am taking my family for vacation to Mayne Island from Aug 1-8. I am curious to know if any one knows of a reputable Guide on or around there? Being a flatlander form Alberta I have only visited the Caost and never fished it. We usually end up buying all our seafood delectibles(except at the Queen charolettes).Salmon, Halibut,Prawns, Crab it doesn't matter WE LOVE them all!! Thanks in advance.

There's very very little for Salmon around Mayne Island-think carefully before you commit hundreds of dollars for a boat ride.

Thanks for the info! Do you have any suggestions? I'm committed to stay there. How about Crabs from the shore? or does that only happen up North? ANY info would be helpful. I should have been on this board 3 weeks ago, then I would have known what I was getting into.

There are two Govt. wharfs on Mayne Island, one at Miners Bay and one at Horton Bay. I'm not sure of the crabbing though, but I'd give er a whirl. After all the Gulf Islands are known as 'The Crablands'

HEY!! This guy needs help......

BTW - The HSBC Celebration of Light is going on in Vancouver at that time FYI. Do a Google to learn more. AUESOME.

Some like it rough...
Others just puke!.
