Guide Courses - First aid?

Signed up for all my guiding courses in December! doing it through heads up in sidney.
One question though, does anyone know if wcb level 1 first aid with transport covers the marine first aid requirement? On WCB's website level 1 is listed as an equivalent to marine first aid but does wcb govern the guiding requirements, or?

I took them all earlier in the year my wife has the other one your talking about. I don't think there 100% the same but just call the course place they should know.

If I were you I would call Transport Canada and ask first hand just to be sure. The Nanaimo office in my opinion the best to deal with regards to any level of marine training and even just asking simple questions. I took my courses from Heads Up as well, I forget the ladies name but she seemed to be very up to date on whats happening with regards to training requirements so she may know as well.

Her name is Capt. Lesley Head.
Very good instructor, I found her well informed and she has lots of experience.
Marine Basic, is the same as the St. Johns Basic, with one additional chapter included covering Automated External Defibrilators. Like the ones you see hanging on columns in WalMart, Cantire etc.

Ok i did cover those in my course so ill talk to transport canada when im in for the CDN number just to confirm.

Pretty sure basic first aid is fine. My course we did literally nothing extra for the marine segment.

Asked transport canada today when i was in for my CDN # - they said as long as your certificate has a place on it and your CDN number in that place, it is sufficient

First Aid is recommended to all classes as a way of reducing downtime between battles, by quickly restoring health after combat. It is highly recommended for melee classes without healing abilites.
