Great looking deal on an Edwing south of the border.

thats going to be gone by the weekend for sure

power was more than the asking when new

It's a mini Sculpin ! that wont last long... wasn't very many made from what I was told, seaworthy machine for sure....now if I just had a spare 20k.. :p

It looks like its littered with plywood it looks like its a ply wood outside deck too, it would be a fun fixer up project.also looks like it wasn't taken care of at all wouldn't be surprised if there was some serious corrosion in a few places on that boat

Ed built bare bones sports fishers for folks that didn't want all the fancy frills. Yes, that is plywood inside. Mine came that way too. No, that is not plywood on the self bailing aft deck. Ed's boats are not pretty but they are structurally sound and built like absolute tanks. Ed's motto is "chrome don't getcha home". That boat has probably been trailered most of its life and messy or hard use does not constitute speculation of "serious corrosion".

In todays market of alloy boats, this is a good deal. There is probably 12-15 grand in cut out materials for a boat that size new!

If she was a little closer to me I'd go give her a once over . She does look a bit rode hard but at that price it could be a diamond in the rough.

Boats awesome I like the layout of them... I don't know though if I like that one with the open front as it takes away your storage in wheelhouse...One thing can say those boats is they don't pound like other aluminum I have been on in rough water...Pretty mellow in the seas..That is was one thing I noticed on trip on the Sculpin.... That is good deal for someone..

That boat would fly with a 225. Definitely a good deal for someone looking for a tinnie. Doesn't look set up for fishing, dive boat maybe?

Edwing has made quite a few commercial boats for the Alaskan fishery. You see them every once in a while on the commercial brokers sites. He made a few sports fishing boats in the past but his computer crashed and he lost all his sport boat files (this is the story I have been told) and said screw it, no more sport boats. I believe there are only about 6 of the 23' Ocean models like I own in existence, a few of the 21' full cabin models, a few 21' center consoles, one 23' walk around phone booth type cabin, and the original 21' open that a guy named Puffin owns on the ifish forum (there are a few I missed but you get the point). All hardcore fisherman own these boats. They are basic to the bone, built like tanks (1/4" bottom and sides), heavy for size (hence part of the nice ride), and will outlast any cookie cutter boat going (if looked after). These boats are built for generations. Just re-power every decade lol.

Cool article about Puffin's trip across the States to fish Venice LA. On an Edwing and a prayer.....

Thanks tubber. I'll check it out :).

Sorry for the hijack folks. I just wanted to post up a little educational for those that are not familiar with these super tough and rare alloys. Edwing's shop is in Chinook Washington. It is basically a large simple pole barn with all the stuff needed to build some pretty big boats. Right next to the Columbia River.

Ed (and other custom builders) have build a lot of boats with pre-flex design long before some jet boat company started marketing that term lol.

Anyway, not pretty boats but functional and tough. In today's market that boat is a good deal IMO. It looks like it could be sold as the the posting has been deleted by the author .
