Thanks Pescador, and good luck on your purchase what ever you may decide. I actually am pretty certain I know of the boat to which you are interested. I can only say that because I saw it and likely almost every Grady selling in the US since September !
Without exposing details if it sports the name "Popcorn" then I know the boat and I know what the asking price is. The boat looks very clean and well looked after with nice electronics , excellent power, radar and pretty good hours for age. I however haven't looked at Grady's that new so Grady's in the 1998 -2003 age , I am far more familiar with. I tend to like to find a little older Grady's for less cost with very low hours for their age ( like the 01' twins on the 232 had 298 hours via YDS computer report !! ) I'd say that 50 K is an acceptable price but remember by the time you add travel there, done the checks, paid the USD exchange rate and shipped it you are in for 56-60K before tax ! . You could probably get price a bit lower , especially because I know the asking price on that boat and the % potential for a drop . Also in my experience south of the location where that boat is , the prices are generally better deal - as you get north up north of where your boat is , I find prices get higher. Similarily west coast US prices arent nearly as good.
Hope that helps - I do know of a couple of nice clean 228's up here in Vancouver area that are asking mid forties - a little older yes , but Yami 4 strokes and in great shape plus no shipping charges, travelling expenses and possible exchange rates that cost you another grand or more - let me know and I can pass along more info if you like....even just for comparison
Edit -- forgot to tell you that Dream Time were good. Prices completely depend on what kind of other shipment they can double up on and how much of the trip there is a piggy back. If they know they have a shipment that will pay going home - you get a better deal . Its bargin bargin bargin ..... if you can wait and they can take their time you can get better deal . The more specific and tight your request is , the more it will cost. We had two boats so better deal - $6100 for both but we wre very flexible as to pick up ( make sure your dealer is as well ) We had to wait a while for the trip and the tow took a while longer due to weather and also the TV series/shooting/business slowed them down in Texas - actually if you watch the show, you will see what shippers are up against and why sometimes thay can offer deals and other times they have to stick to a price. I liked Dream Time and I'd use em again -
