Wholesale sports in Langley has their grand opening yesterday and today.
Reels are 20% off yesterday and today.
I bought two of the new Shimano 4000's .
Their reg price was $104 regular priced,so with the discount they were a hair over $80.00 each.
Today(Saturday) is the last day . So if you are near Langley head over there.

Thanks for the heads up man. I have the new Moocher Plus 4000's and I'm not satisfied with them. They're heavy, upset the balance of the rod and reel together, and I'm not pleased with the "vague" feel of the reel. The construction if definitely of great quality.

Shimano asked for the previous generation 2000GT and 4000GTs back from wholesalers and retailers on RMA. If anyone has a line on any old stock of either the 2000 or 4000 which is new or almost new, please PM me.

I am not happy at all with the new Shimano 2000GT. Brought a new one up to Alaska for a fishing trip. Day 1: Everything worked great Day 2: drag would slip and would get a lot of line walking when using it on a downrigger. Day 3: Could not get the drag to tighten up at all no matter how much I turned the drag knob. Finally took the reel apart and flipped over the drag washer. Seemed to help a little bit.

Very disappointed in the reel. Have used other peoples older generation and it did not take much of a turn on the drag either way to tighten or loosen. On the new style it takes several turns or more to get the drag tight. Maybe there is something wrong with the drag or I am just missing something.

Take it back to where you got it, and they'll replace it. The Moocher Plus with the "Dartanium" Drags had some problems to start with. Either way, the new "Moocher Plus" reels are heavy and feel vague. The drag system isn't all that great.
