So I am finally having to bite the bullet and have my under floor tank replaced. Seems like very few places do this work on the island. The shop i've taken the boat into isn't able to give a specific quote due to not knowing how much work is involved, which is fair but said it could be close to $5000 in labour alone. So with the cost of a 125 gal tank running 2500-3000 I could be looking at $8k for this job. The tanks foamed into place and the floor may have to be cut to get the tank out as the hatch above doesn't extend over the entire tank. Wondering if others have had their tanks replaced and what the cost was?

Those numbers are not a surprise. I got two 90 gallon and one 14 gallon tanks made, total cost $5700. Install was buried in a larger set of work so can't help there. $5k doesn't go far with most shop rates after parts and materials.

I'm having my tanks done by Brant Marine in Delta. Pricing is on par with what you are describing. I had a couple quotes for two 60 gallon saddle tanks that were 1500-2000 a piece. After much deliberating, I decided this was a job worth paying for. They have quoted me about 8k on the job, which I think is pretty fair.

I had my previous tank foamed in and that caused premature moisture sitting on the top which caused little pin holes to materialize

I did my fuel and water tank two years ago. I did all the labour myself and it still cost around $4500. It’s a big job getting them out if they are foamed in. I installed my new tanks on top of a flat 1/4” thick rubber type material that I sikaflexed to the bottom of the tank every 10” or so. I used enough sika that the rubber wasn’t in contact with the aluminum and went without foam and left an air gap around all sides. I also added a drain to the compartment just in case water somehow was to get in there. It’s pretty much impossible for it to get in but I didn’t want any trapped water in the future .

I would phone DSS welding in Duncan. They do a lot of this work and guys there have their own boats. I find they are pretty fast and commit.
