Chaos your right not a fair comparison. 4 strokes are very expensive to purchase, they are very technical so very few owners will be able to do repairs themselves, they have more moving parts to wear out, they are heavier...except for the newest generation which are comparable to 2 strokes...but they achieve this by not having steel cylinder sleeves. So if you scuff or score a cylinder you throw the powerhead away...its not rebuildable. They do offer extended warranty for even more money which you would be a fool not to buy. I'll stick with my 1997 2 stroke carbed Yami which for about $3000 gets you a complete rebuild when it gets tired. I have one on the boat, another 0 hour complete rebuilt engine and a 3rd completely torn down for parts in a tote...total investment $10,000. I'll have to burn $10,000 worth of oil just to match the price of one new 4 stroke. No thanks.
