For those launching at Vanier....

Hey Guys,

Keep meaning to mention this but ALL summer I have seen boats getting clogged up in Bard on the Beach traffic. I live on Kits Point so witness this all the time first hand and it's always boats being towed getting jammed up on Cypress and at the roundabouts......much like today. ;) Saw a guy towing at the roundabout at Cypress and Creelman which is 2 blocks in on Cypress and it was ridiculous.

I have lived down here for 8 years now and have learned that when a Bard gets out....if you want to get off Kits Point quickly AND at a light, go over to Arbutus or even Maple. Maple is a two way light and rarely lines up, very easy to turn left on to Cornwall and head east to Burrard. Arbutus is a 4 way light. I rarely get off the point on Cypress....I use the streets further west as Gregor's bike crap makes Cornwall and Cypress a shitshow at the best of times. Add vehicles trying to get out of the Starbuck's/Siegel's parking lot now that Gregor ditched their exit directly on to Cornwall...I lose my mind. Vehicles trying to turn left out of that lot on to Cypress and make a quick turn on to Cornwall are something that MANY residents and business owners are writing to our freaky MoonBeam mayor about.

Generally it gets clogged up ~3 hours after a show is scheduled to start. Have a look at the schedule below and you may want to gauge accordingly and save some frustration. For example the 1pm shows cause gridlock at 4pm....thru the summer and it was bright enough to be coming off the Point at 10...ridiculously packed. I actually called the city to see if they could adjust the length of the lights to accommodate these times which they apparently did.....but didn't make much difference. Bard continues thru the next 2 1/2 weeks.

Oh.....did I mention....vote NPA if you are a Vancouver resident. :p

The NPA never did anything to improve Vanier Launch either and were just as cosy with the developers over the residents I am going to give COPE a try.

Haha....very much agree and NEVER stated to vote because of that. However they also didn't push the bike lane agenda down the throats after so called public consultations that were a sham, THUS creating many of the issues for boaters towing their boats off Kits Point. Roundabouts and Bard have been there for years..... I have just seen boats stuck in this traffic on Cypress which is amplified by the changes to the parking lot (Starbucks) AND Green-Gore's agenda. Our city is $1.8 B in debt and way, way too much crap going on. ;)

Terrin....come hang out down here one day. I'll buy the coffee! :p Sell me on COPE  and I'll show you the issues down here thanks to a lefty Mayor.

Cedar Party....Anti Gregor platform. Not some elite socialists deciding what is good for me.....They are getting my vote this fall. Anyone who drives a 69 Z28 can't be that bad.....
