What he said, I have half heartedly tried but never given it a whole lot of time

Don't often use plugs in Vancouver but this is a photo after pulling a plug for only 10 minutes ( off Bell Buoy area in Vancouver harbour) approx. 40' off cable.

the Vancouver Sun Salmon Derby was just about always won with a pink and white Lucky Louie plug.

Now that's going back some years. Fished that as a teenager. I remember it as the Export A Salmon Derby and all the winners seemed to be in the high 40s at least.

Plugs work...here yep...

However, Anchovies work better.

I have had some good days fishing nothing but plugs off the Fraser. I had one really memorable day when I mistakenly left the bait box on the kitchen counter at home.

..and there have been a couple of charters where I have fired out the plugs in desperation since the anchovies weren't getting it done....fishing was scratchy. I am sure that the plugs allowed me to cover a bit more ground and allow me to put a plug in front of a fish.... Which may not have happened at regular trolling speed.

Be prepared to sit and wait...and wait...and wait...when you get one, it'll be a good one.
