Fishing is hot in Los Barriles

Fishing is hot if the wind drops.Found a dead whale and were doing well on Dorado when we had an unexpected strike!! 1hr 20-he towed us around in our 13ft aluminum. Would have liked to release him but he was extremly badly hooked. Normally don't keep them but sometimes it can't be helped!! Probably around 130 lbs-not big but from a 13 ft boat on a tld 20 -makes your day!!!

ah looks good! To me I'd much rather go out in my own little boat and catch a fish then sit around watching a captain and crew fish while I wait to reel something in.

Thanks guys for the comments. Usually you see some marlin fins around before the hit-but this time we hadn't seen any for a few hours-lots of big dorado around the whale carcass-no idea the marlin was there too!!! Makes you reflect on trying to relase a big hali by the boat-this was getting scary and it was as flat as a mill pond! Smoker is full as we speak!!

Nice job, that's amazing! So much fun, living the dream is right. We were over there on Monday, flat calm, sun was out. Did some spear fishing also, not much luck with the spears but sure got lucky on the rods. Loads of Dodos and a couple of beauty Yellow Tail. Love that place when there is no wind.

Congrats to you and your crew, we need to hook up next time I'm over there.
