Well..after some hmmmming and hawing....we decided not to go fishing today...the huge ebb tide, the forecast for a stiff Northwesterly from 15-25 knots, and not being able to get out with that low tide made us skip going. However, it didn't stop me from checking out the locals at the launch! [8D]
So..off I went..and my buddy went fishing...and HE DIDN"T TELL ME..and he was pulling his boat out..his report..a grand slam of crab for 3 people on board, a MARBLE 10 lb FAT spring, and 2 undersize released. All fish came from the Bellbuoy towards the QA area..lots of seals.
I then called up my friend who works for the local charter firm and they had a grand slam of crab, released 3 undersize, and had 1 lean keeper...about 8 lbs..also a MARBLE. Interesting.
Prodding for details, he caught his keeper on a 5.0 Coyote in chrome/prism finish at 110 feet about 3/4ths the way to the QA.
My friend caught his on a green glow 4.0 Coyote. Radio reports from the area seemed positive with quite a bit of seals taking fish, and one lucky angler who caught a 19lb Spring at the QA marker, with a couple of other boats reporting keepers.
Sounds like fishing is pretty reasonable for around Vancouver still, and as I left the Northwest was starting to pick up, and the tide was already long gone.
Not bad...33lber and 19lbers within 2 days of eachother with not a lot of angler pressure...hmmmm..makes me wonder what it would be like if there were 100 boats on the water.....
Time to go FISHIN. Maybe time to make next weekend an extra long weekend... hehe..
