I've really enjoyed the comradery of most of you guys who responded to my salmon fishing title. The social intercourse and verbal ejaculations were for the most part, very entertaining.

I'm a SWM (is that politically correct?) age 76 and come well equipped - tacklewise that is. Viagra did stop my aerial from coming down when I went through the car wash.

Right now, the only thing I do is hit golf balls at the driving range and play when the weather permits. Great group of golf buddies but none of them fish (would you believe?). I'd really appreciate a whack at some salmon, halibut, ling cod, red snapper or whatever with someone who was looking to fish with another buddy or fill out a group. Charters won't accomodate a single unless they have unrestricted access to your bank acoount. Many times, I felt like Jesse James hadn't died ... he'd just changed to chartering.

Anyway, if someone with a boat for ocean fishing was to give an old guy a break, I'd have no problem driving up to 400 klicks from White Rock and overnighting in a local motel. Naturally I would pay my share of gas and all other incidentals.

Thanks very much for reading this. As Red Green says: Keppe yur stick on the ice.".

You might want to consider joining a hunting, fishing, conservation club like Semiahmoo Fish and Game. While clubs can be a bit hard for new members to break into-- its worth the effort. These guys are a great group and your best bet to find a fishing partner.

Cheers JayDee,

If you send me a PM with your information I will put you a list as I have many times during the year where someone would like one or more to fill the boat. In fact I had a charter on Sunday from Toronto where the business person (P/C) wished to have someone join him as he was here alone.

I fish all of Vancouver Island but spend most of my time fishing out of Nanaimo so you could catch a ferry in the A.M. and be home in the P.M. and, since we leave from right beside the ferry terminal you could walk to the dock we leave from in 3 minutes.

Should any other persons wish to be placed on such a list I would be only too happy to oblige.

Sincerely,

Fishing Guide

Cuba Libre - Thanks for the info. I had no idea that a club existed. I've already filled in the membership info form. Hopfully they'll get back to me. Again, many thanks.

Fishing Guide - Obviously, I've been fortunate in reaching the exception to the experiences I've encountered. I really appreciate your comments. What should I budget. If the price is right, I can be available on short notice anytime you could fit me in from mid February on. My email is j533@shaw.ca and my phone is 778-991-2720. I like using my own equipment including lures, etc. When you contact me, please give me a list of what to bring including food, clothing, etc. I'm pretty sure I know what I need but there's no sense in my not taking advantage of your obviously far superior experience and of course, local knowledge. My apologies for the slur on your profession. Again, many thanks.
