Fish in Cap river?

It's been raining of and on for awhile. Just wondering if there's any fish in Cap river itself? I heard that there are a lot at the mouth but haven't heard if there's any that have gone up the river. Is it true that some of the salmon may spawn at the mouth instead of trying to go up the river even if it fills up? I don't drive and can't afford a boat so I just want to catch them in the river. It's a long way from Burnaby so I don't want to waste my time if the river is still low and nothing's been caught. catcher
