I find it wise to carry a copy of the appropriate gun regulations due to the fact that the majority of law enforcement are not aware of the laws.. You can also carry a pre 1898 colt or similar revolver without a pal as it is deemed not to be a fire arm. Always wise to have your weapon unloaded and secured unless you are engaged in a lawful activity such as target practise or hunting etc. Always besafe and it is also wise to notify an enforcement officer that you have a legal weapon on board and you will follow his/her instructions as to how you should proceed from this point forward in able to make the officer feel safe and not under threat.

Only when in transport Wapiti. Then unloaded and secured, out of sight etc.
BUT, you can fire from a watercraft that is NOT Under Power as several have noted above. As in engine off - good to go.
We do this all the time out of the Big Jet Rig when hunting. It's been camo'd so makes a nice "blind" as it were.
Certainly cannot fire from any other vehicle under any conditions I am aware of.
DAMN Good Idea! Don't need a trigger-happy Newbie getting nervous on your hands!! Been there, got aimed at, Ain't Pleasant!

Hey Nog.....did they change that regulation in BC? I could have sworn it was beat to death on HBC a few years back and the motor had to be off AND tilted up so as not ready to go for what I believe was defined as "immediate use" or something like that?

That still may be applicable for outboards Pip.
Kinda tough to "tilt" the jet leg attached to the beefed up 502 Kodiak Racing Engine to comply though!
CO at Fireside a few years back informed us we were Good To Go by simply switching the main power off on that rig.

I have one of those "Just In Case" I have to go ashore, in the area I fish in there some big bad bears.
12 Gauge pump-for big bad bears-- Sheesh! I found the Beretta Jetfire .22 short quite effective one time hiking in Northern Alberta. My first wife and I were suddenly attacked by a HUGE enraged grizzly. If not for my jetfire I would not be here today!
Just one shot to her knee cap was all it took- - - The bear got her as I walked away at a brisk pace..It's the best firearm in my collection!
