Favorite Christmas Ornaments

Everybody (or most I know anyway) have a few ornaments that they cherish.

We have a great many that mean a great something to my Lady & I.
One example is this hand-carved piece that was lovingly worked from a single branch before painting (it is from the days of old when craftsmen were proud of their efforts):

So, let's see one or two of yours...

I'll grab a few more to add in as The Season progresses...

Cheers,

I inherited this tree topper from my gram when she passed away over 10 years ago. She got it in the 40s sometime but couldn’t remember exactly when. If you watch the movie “a Christmas’s story” you can see the same star on their tree. Definitely wasn’t CSA approved so I changed out the wiring for something a little more modern.

on a side note:
How’re you guys posting pics without them having to be expanded to see them?DEEA46B8-721A-43DE-B7BE-17C3322B2EE1.jpeg

Once you have uploaded the file mage click on the word insert and choose full image to make it part of your post, instead of the thumbnail format.

A clock from Germany. Each of the doors open and out comes a specific snowman playing a specific instrument as indicated in the Carol sung on each hour:

Merry Christmas One & All!
The Nogs

The most melancholy day of the season has arrived.
As much as my Lady & I love to set up the Christmas display in our home while reflecting on the joys of years past, that always comes with a price.
Today is that price. As we slowly and carefully take it all down and wrap them securely for another year, I cannot help but feel a little out of sorts as we do so. The Hacienda looks so beautiful with it all up, it damn near approaches empty looking as they go...

Sigh... Only 11 months and change and we can do it all over again...

Merry Humbug...
