Was the electrical redone well recently? What is the fuel tank situation?

Does it have the sun roof?

Do you have it listed at 17k and not selling?
The electrical was upgraded 7 yrs ago..it has a welded aluminum 70 L bow tank and a 50 L rear portable tank and yes a sun roof...not much action yet at 17k

I’d try at 14850 with a video of it running on step in the water on a nice day on Facebook, with all the details. It is a nice package, with the new engine and kicker. People are still looking. I’d put the estimated range, mpg, cruise and top speed. 17 is starting to be a really capable boat but all you are selling is a dream, hard top that you can stand up in the summer and newer power, but stay warm in the winter. If you can scrounge up a pot puller and mention crabbing and Prawning it it is the time for that. Looks like it might be a suspension seat from harbour freight mention it and the Deep V… very important ;)

When I saw your ad posted last week the "transom will outlive the boat" and the picture of a full-width aluminum plate raised red flags. I think @tubber 's cost estimate is on the generous side, especially at this time of year.
Almost all old hourstons, double eagles, Grady whites are worth $0 in my opinion but that doesn't stop people selling them for more than they are worth.

I know what you're saying about unrestored boats with wood stringers and transoms -- but there are also well-restored boats. Mine has foam stringers and a transom where every hole is epoxy lined. Better than new and worth more than $0.

Whoa whoa whoa! Lots of good ones out there. Not everyone has 100K budget.

Totally agree, and “cream puffs” double eagle, hourstons and GW always stored under cover and never moored are worth a hell of a lot more too. I should not have said almost all, how about many boats built in the 70-80’s m? I was trying to challenge the concept his hull is worth $0 and didn't do it well.

I agree with others on the price. It’s a great package with newer power, just a tougher sale with the older original hull. The motors aren’t cheap, and you probably have a lot into it, but unfortunately, it’s only worth so much. I’d keep it and list again in the spring. I was in the same boat, literally, '89 17’ Hourston, 2 brand new motors, electrical, electronics, etc. Hull rotted out a few years later. I ended up parting the boat out. It takes more time and effort but made more than selling as a package. Something to think about.

What was the reason for metal transom addition on this one?
How does it sit in the water?
I think the flags buyers may have would be the transom and paint that looks like something is being covered up.
The boat does show its age in your photos so it does not look to be a "cream puff"
Sadly the hull here may not have much value. Parting out may be a good option or 10-12K range if it passes an inspection and sea trial then you are not stuck getting rid of the hull.

So back when i drilled through the transom - to install trim tabs - it was a little damp in there...so i fabricated the aluminum cover which goes down inside the well thinking that the transom would be invincible even if it rotted out...it sits fine in the water..takes me across to Tunstall 20 times a winter..great lil boat..but now with grands ect comin on...
