So I here that the bay is the place to be around Sept-Oct.The word on the street is that a large no. of springs show up.I have had sh---ty results(most of my buddy's too)so far this year.Lots of jacks etc.So whats the deal? When do they show?ARE THEY? This year seems to be all screwed up time wise.My tackle is so clean from trolling around I can seemyself!!I know,Iknow , keep trying, keep trying .............

In the Sun today the fishing report said there was lots of action out there (springs, coho and socs), but that's not what I've been been reading here. Anything new guys?

Remember, it's called "fishing," not "catching."

Went out Sat. for the morning flood and got a 12lb spring!Almost was amazed when the reel started to go!We saw two nice ones around 20lb boated and a couple Coho as well.Nice to be out and see a bit of action for a change.Lets hope next weekend is as good or better,I will be out there again with the other 70 boats!

Where exactly were you fishing? English Bay?... Mouth of the Cap?... and what depth?

We were going from the Cap mouth,to the pink apt.s in 50-100' water, the anchovies were not working, got him on a purple haze hootchie @75' heading west.

Thanks for the info! Heading out there Wed. morning to fish from sunrise through low slack. Let you know...

Hey Fishallspec,
I was out yesterday morning for a few hours but, thinking the whooping ebb had likely washed the bait out of the bay, I went to the QA marker... nothing to show! One short nibble (125' on a "Blood'n Bones" Hootchie) and sighting a couple of Dolphins playing in the surface was all the exitement we got. Guess I should have gone to the rivermouth like everybody else.

Well, the FISHING seems to have really started at the Cap.We didn't see 1 spring boated!Saw a couple small coho,we lost one, and asked alot of guys the response was the same.We were there for the flooding tide 'till about 5:00.Sat.with the other 50+ boats !The Harbour Patrol was giving lots of guys a blast for being in the shipping lanes. My neighbour nailed a 36lbr at the Qa Sun.Too windy for me and that dam lawn had to be mowed !Maybe my calender wasn't lying to me, it has a little fish that was not all blue.Full moon?I think I may have to bow to the fish gods, while kneeling on my tackle box or something! But hey man was it ever a nice day out there, calm (most of us)and warm. I like it!
