1st posting on this board, some really great stuff!I am going to do the West Van troll (Cap to Research Station)this weekend.Any reports or suggestions would be great.

Over time I've found that springs run further from shore, Coho closer to shore. I've had the most luck with Coho in the bay in front of the launch, and Every fish I've caught (and most I've seen caught) has been caught trolling in a westerly direction.

Suggestion:
Try everything, and report back with what worked/didn't work!

Fishin' anywhere anytime for anything

Small herring cutplugs worked for us last season as well as early this season. Haven't been out there for a month or so. Should be LOTS (polluted) of Pinks hanging around by now also.

We should be out playing around tomorrow as well.

Good luck!

Some like it rough...
Others just puke!.

Haven't been around for the last three weeks. All of my vast resources say it's scratchy, very scratchy.

Things seem to be somewhat 'off' everywhere this season. Only thing is somewhat 'off' here, means it generally just plain sucks. I'll be out working trap lines tommorow. Might do some light tackle stuff to fill the voids........

Other than an announcement that the Sockeye forecast was extremely over estimated, is about all I know. Did we even manage to get an opening?. I'm surprized if we did. I'll need to look that one up.

Useless information, I know. Sorry.
Dean

Well, went out Sat.afternoon to fish the flooding tide.Really LUMPY around 2:00.Trolled around for 4 hours no hits (1 dog shark)high line out with red hootchie for pinks/socks zip.Tried anchovies, coyoty lures etc.all depths SLOW DAY!!Not the normal amount of boats out there, didn't see any fish caught, charter boys seemed to be slow as well.Wonder how late the fish really are this year? When you don't see any seals you know somethings up.Couldn't make it out Sunday maybe that was the day!On a good note, coming back to the Planetarium launch at 5:30 was mayhem,I gave my parking spot to a guy,he was so happy,he spotted me $30 no matter what I said he said keep it!

Didn't get a line wet on Sat. Spent the day playing w/ a friends new (to him) boat, on the river.

<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle> Though it sounds as if we didn't miss much............ I'm starting to get more than a little worried. Last few seasons, as of three weeks ago, one could walk on water from Stanley park over too North Vancouver, due to the high #'s of Coho and Pinks.
