Dumped my tackle box - what are your go to items?

I did the unthinkable and lost my entire salmon tackle box while fishing the Victoria waterfront today...now I need to retool. Looking for recommendations for must have salmon tackle, odds and ends, a good box or organizer etc.

I pretty much have a floating tackle store, but the items below probably are down 95% of the time on our boat when we are fishing Vancouver / Gulf Islands up to the Central Coast and WCVI:

Flashers: Green (really chartreuse) and Purple Onion (or Bon Chovy and Madi if you want more glow)
Teaser heads: Chartreuse Splatter and HyHo Silver anchovy special
Spoons: Gold Nugget Skinny G (with the hooks swapped out). Yeah, they bend easy and the finish comes off, but we have one that we keep re-bending into a poor approximation of how it was originally shaped and sending it back down and it keeps producing. Probably closing in on 100 fish over the past couple years. Lots of those are pinks, but a good number of coho, some chums and a dozen or so springs up to 26 lbs.
Hoochies: Personally I don't like fishing them (prefer not to have an inline flasher), but can't go wrong with glow chartreuse and white.

Add a couple 602 Tomics in a couple sizes if you like fishing plugs and some Michael Bait hoochies if you are targeting sockeye. That's really all you need.

Buy good pliers that can cut a big hook. Channel lock needle nose are probably the cheapest acceptable option.

I have a small plano 2 tray box for line, scent, spares, tools, and pre tied lures. I keep the rest of my lures that I’m not using in regular single tray organizers. One for hooks and terminal hardware, one for spoons, one for hoochies, etc.

50 cal plastic ammo cases work well for flashers.

Thanks to all for the recommendations. I’m liking the trays to keep it simpler. I’m thinking for lures, some wee g’s, skinny g’s (yes bananas etc) and some teaser heads. Any real difference between bullet rolls and anchovie specials?

What a loaded question!!!

You see, I have 4 boxes now. One for Buzz Bombs and Zingers with rubber bumpers and spare hooks and leader material. Some old Riptide Strikers as well as Mac Deeps. Easier to have all that in one box.

There is a box for Plugs with the bottom stuffed with about 15 Flashers. Some Tomics, A Lucky Louie or two, leaders, bead chains, big ball bearing swivel snaps.

There is a tray for all the hootchies, with the usual white white/glow/mother of pearl, Green Spackleback, Blue Spackleback (both glow and non), then there are the cuttle fish and the needle fish, and mini hootchies, and of course lots of Army Truck in all four variants, glow bullet inserts, tinsel inserts, etc, etc.

Then there is the spoon box ...

Plus of course nippers, pliers, sharpening stones, spare spark plugs and wrench for the kicker, small screw driver for the reels, small vice grips, small WD 40 spray can for lube and scent, coastlock ball bearing swivels, sockeye snubbers ...

Maybe call your insurance and tell them about what happened. There is no honest and long term fisherman on this Board who could deny having thousands of dollars of tackle, especially if you start buying 3 skinny Gs or Coho Killers in each of the popular colour patterns.

Now I understand why I have no money for drinking and gambling....

I am VERY biased, but a "12" herring grand slam bucktail and a clear UV hoochie with a white needle fish grand Slam Bucktail as a skirt have been awesome fish catchers the last 3 years!

602 tomic plugs too!

I run both. Bullet rolls for large / x-large anchovies and small / medium herring. Anchovy Specials work better for smaller sizes.

I've been using the Lure Jensen teaser heads more and more the past couple summers and have been very impressed. Consistent roll every time and haven't broken one yet. Luckily they had them on clearance last time I was in Harbour Chandler so stocked up.
