Downrigger Storage

Don't know what you do with your DR's when they are off the boat, but I finally got tired of them being in the way in the garage, sitting on the floor like so much of my other stuff.
Designed a simple wall hanger and, because I don't like running real small pieces through the saw (it can be hard on the fingers) I ended up some spare blanks.
Anyone wants one, send me an address and your boom size (either 1" - manuals, or 1 1/4" - some manuals or the electrics).
You can send me the postage plus a buck or two for the materials.

I just hang mine on hooks screwed into the bottom of an upper shelving unit. Just use the clip on the end of the wire to hang them from.

Hey I was just supporting the guy and his hobby. I have hung mine by nails in the past and stored them on the floor I have even used extra mounts attaching them to a wall. But keeping busy and making a couple dollars well doing it is good. They look nice.

I am sure there are a lot of ways to do it, but got to admit that does look pretty nice!

Nice work Time!

I guess I should have started off the post with "What ideas have you come up with to store or hang your downriggers?"
I never thought to drive a nail into the wall or use a hook and and hang them off the ball clip.
Good idea ProFisher, but I still like mine.

If you're making your own, I made mine with a dado in the back tilted up about 10 degrees. But you could just screw and glue the hanger piece into the bottom of a piece.
Best spot to hang seems to be under the line guide. Keep the slot to 1/32 to 1/16" greater than the boom diameter.
I'm not trying to make a buck. Canada Post seems to want 8-10.00 every time I mail a package. Gets expensive to give things away.

This is hilarious..... I just dealt with the same issue this past week. I made replicas of the mounting blocks for my electrics. They only took a couple minutes on the table saw but the wood I used was to soft and gave way when I tried to insert the bolt through the hole. I ended up just buying two scotty mounts and bolted them to the wall.
