Dodds narrows

Am looking for some info. from all the knowlegable people on this forum. A friend of mine is wanting to pull a 36ft. sailing boat up to Nanaimo on Sunday. Pulling it with a 40ft. ex fishing trawler.When would the best time be to go thru Dodds Narrows. I know the tide changes north to south,and south to north and that is all I know. Thanks for all your help,much appreciated.

According to my Nobeltec program, slack (turning to flood) will be at 11:33 am PST. Max ebb (6.3) would have been at 9:00 am and max flood (5.1)will be at 13:30. As always with any prediction, it would be wise to hedge your bets.

The current predictor I looked is almost identical to what Copper Moon has reported,slack at 11:40,flood begins and max flood of 5 knots at 13:46.Next slack at 16:24.Best to start at slack or start of flood.

Great timing. I was at Duke Point when they went by. Looks like they were using the current to their advantage.
