Came across a dead porpoise in close proximity to a number of navy vessels today between Constance and Border Banks. Nothing noticeably wrong with it --- just sayin'.

Nothing noticeably wrong with it except it was dead within close proximity to a number of navy vessels !!!

Did you report it?

There was some issues lately with marine mammals washed up on Washington shores lately that were dead due to some naval testing. I think you should report it IMO.

Vancouver Aquarium would be a good place to start.

Hey Guys if you come across a dead porpoise or dolphin/whale here is the number to call. DFO’s Observe, Record and Report 24-hour hotline at 1-800-465-4336. There have been a record number of transient killer whales passing through the strait this month , so this may just be a casualty, but its a good idea to report it or just call it in to the Coast Guard on 83A.

A word of caution , don't handle these animals! There has been a increasing number of deadly cross specie diseases showing up in our local whales in the last 5 years , namely cryptococcus ,these diseases can be transferred to humans via direct contact or close airborne contact.

thanks Beemer - call made...they were interested in location, size (length), visible sign of injury or not and if there was any decomposition.

Not saying I think it was necessarily caused by Sonar. Just objectively describing the scene where found.
