The freshette has started on the Vedder. Water is 1-2' visibility below the crossing, better above the tamahai. There are steelies around still. River to close on the 30th, unless you are a fly caster. Lots of trout around.
Beautiful time of the year to fish. Come on over and enjoy.
Any information on fishing july / aug.
Like what's in the river and what sort of rigs are they hitting?
It's a super long drive for me so i'm trying to maximise fish exposure.
The Vedder/Chilliwack re-opens on July 1. The first few days are a zoo beacuse of the pent-up fisher-itis. There are red springs in the Vedder at that time. These are normally much smaller than the reds in the ocean and the Fraser (approx. 10-15 lb'ers). Also, there are sockeye, which you cannot keep. This year is a pink year so there will be a TON of pinks starting late August. Some coho start showing up in July/August as well. Good luck finding them once the pinks show up. Late September, the white springs and chum are in, big time.
That's the 09 summer synopsis.[8D]
Enjoy
