I understand there will be buoys at porteau cove signifying where the boundary of no fishing of any kind are. but i want to pre-plan where I can do crabbing NEAR porteau cove (eg. going up north, or south). There is no info on DFO or anywhere on the actual boundary, can someone please let me know if such a map exist? thanks!

This DFO map doesnt show anything around porteau cove.

It's a marine park so you have to stay out of the marked areas that say no fishing. You'll see them.

thanks, i saw them and avoided the boundaries north and south of them. however i would like clarification on how far OUT from the shoreline is considered not within the boundaries? is it about 800ft away?

There's an imaginary line between the two markers. If you are outside of that line, you are good. You should be able to see both of the markers at the same time and know when you are far enough out.

I've paddled out from the camp site to just past the border and dropped traps a couple times but never caught anything. I have heard rumours of a few being caught, but I haven't seen first hand
