Chartplotter / Sounders recommendation?

Picking up a 14' Bombard C4 with a 98 Yamaha 2 Stroke tomorrow and looking for a plotter / fish finder. Will mainly be using it for family boating, Coho fly fishing, exploring, boat access river trips etc as well a odd bit of local trolling. Any recommendations for something c. $500ish that will do the job? So many options don't know where to start. Also bit sure what I'll need in terms of of batteries etc.

Lowrance hook reveal 5 is probably the best one around your budget. You’ll need to pay a couple hundred extra for good charts.
