CHANGING SINGLE PROP TO DUO PROP

Is it possible to remove a Volvo 280 SINGLE PROP outdrive and replace with a 290 DUO PROP outdrive with out replacing the transom shield? THANKS IN ADVANCE CHEERS !

Yes. you can just change the lower unit, not even the whole drive.

I want to change the whole unit upper and lower.

You may want to search the performance benifits of the duoprop. When I bought my boat new the factory supplied performance figures for both.For my smaller boat(21 feet) the duoprop was not worth the extra cost. In order to really benifit you need a certain size boat and power plant. A lot of times you can pick up better speed milage etc. with prop change and trim tabs. The only way I would change would be if it didn't cost me anything.

careful installing tilt pins, if holes arent lined up, bushings will break.
