canoes in saanich inlet

I was wondering if anyone has tried salmon fishing out of canoes in areas such as saanich inlet? Any tips (safety included) would be appreciated

Fished the inlet, waterfront and albert head when i was kid in a canoe. Albert head was good just tie to the kelp and use a buzz bomb and i was fishing for salmon. Always if the wind let you, and stay away from the strong tides. Caught salmon at all spots but that was 30 yrs ago.

I heard it used to be good. I tried for coho and chum from a kayak. I didnt see a sign of a fish anywhere.

you could certainly jig off wain rock in a canoe, maybe the reef off coles bay might be worth a try as well. There are salmon still around the inlet at times, just gotta find em.
