So I get an invoice today from CFAO for $227.13 !!!
All it says is that I owe the the money, no explanation of why. I suspect that it is Coast Guard trying to collect for their horse$hit invoice. Anyone else paying this crap? Maybe we can get a crap game going on in the slammer?

Wonder why they would send you an invoice for no reason. I have never recieved something like that. Have you contacted them at all for assistance or any other reason?

I would suspect the Envelope said from Thunder Bay airport services on it.

This I think is the Marine Navigation Services Fee, and has been implemented since 1998, but they are just now starting to enforce it. You must have your C #'s, am I correct?

Search MNSF and you will find more information on the topic, I think in general discussion or open Chat. I just found my own post under MNSF information, I explain it there.

It is legit, just make sure you are not registered as a fishing vessel, thats a 227 dollar hit compared to 25 bucks, you can change that with TPCanada as you are likely what is known as a charter or fleet rental boat.

Betty Boop, after shredding all of the invoices from Thunder Bay Airport services I now get the invoice from CFAO for $227.13 as well. That’s the interest charged to the original invoice of $200.00. I am not paying this as it’s a cash grab that they came up with for anyone who went thru getting the C # to be a legal guide or vessel. There was no indication of this charge when I went thru the painful process of certifying my boat.

This is a typical load of crap that the government comes up with to squeeze more money out of you for doing absolutely nothing. The only question I have is when I go to get the new 2011 self inspection sticker? Could be a problem as they could hold you hostage and not issue one until you pay the $227.13

Fishing Guide, what did you do with this as I know you went thru the C# process?

YOU want to hear a laugh now that those boats that do river drifts with the huge zodiacs which people paddle have had to get there "C" numbers as well YEP you guessed it they have been sent invoices as well LOL LOL what a country!!!!! this is almost as laughable as regestiring a weber heat gun in the firearms dumb thing as well..... BUT ......

IF you google MNSF you will see that this was implemented in 1998 by DFO in conjunction with TPC. They have just recently got around to charging but are very inconsistant with it. Read my MNSF INFORMATION post, use the search area. Unfortunately this is yet another cash grab, but you need to adjust your description from Fishing Vessel to a fleet or Charter rental boat then your charge goes from 227.00 to 25 bucks.

They are terrible at communicating this CRAP ! Yet again another hoop ..... next up mandatory CTAG ..... you just watch ............ f %&^%^%^&*^!!! government BS.

Like the halibut crap .... no different they have NO CLUE !
