Talked to a buddy in Campbell last night. He said fishing was good.
Even a fair number of fish on the board for the Tyee Pool.

I think he mentioned the light house and just outside the tyee pool.
I did not get many particulars as I am not heading that way...till hunting season in a couple of weeks = )

I could call for some info if you have trouble getting the scoop.

Hey maddog first of all the light is closed to fishing till the end of this month. The best spots to fish right now. Is up north Brownsbay deepwaterbay Greenseabay Chatampoint. Lots of pink and a few sockie around. Haft to work for your springs but they are there. Out front of town has alot of spring sitting ouy there to. Hope this helps Good Luck Snowwhite

As Snowhite says, lots of pinks and socks up at Browns Bay, Deppwater Bay and further north at Greensea, Chatham. Best depths are 50-90. Springs are a bit deeper 110-140. Don't waste time with chovies, too many pinks hitting them. I've been running gator hootchies and getting at least 2 springs each time. Out in front of town, gator and purple haze have been getting the springs, 30 ft in about 50-60 ft of water. Be aware of the restricted gear (single barbless, 6 oz weight max, no flashers) area between the hidden harbour condos and orange point. Best bet is to tow plugs (602,500,700 in 6 or 7inch) in this area, 6 oz, 20 pulls. Gotta put in your time to get these fellas, but most fish in the 20-35 lb range. Heard there are springs in front of salmon point in 200 ft down 120-160. Haven't fished there myself, so can't provide any details.
Good Luck

Sounds good guys, Thanks for the reports. Sooke has slowed down for now after a nice burst of fish last week, it might be due to the slacker tides relating to slower fishing i hope. I should not miss to much down here so i guess it's worth dragging the boat up for a relaxing troll or two and a bevy or three. Great times !!! Thanx again M.D.

Maddog hear Kitty has been ok but the night of the 25th point holmes opens and hear there's fish stageing in decent numbers. I have been fishing off the big Q fish with fish up to 29 lbs on my boat and 42 lbs on someone elses. Both the big Q and the little Q have lots of fish stageing and there big in both size and numbers. The bad news is I just blew my main motor last night 50 hsp thunderbolt merc so if you might know of a great deal can't afford much right now so please pass the word must be 50hsp or greater. My leg is good but the powerhead is toast so just a powerhead might be an option!!!

Cheers MyEscape aka Kevin

Happy Hookin!!!

Hey MyEscape. I'm the lucky one who caught the 42lb Aug 18th at the Big Q. Had my 15 minutes of fame at Costa Lotta when I pulled out. Was back on Wed. and got skunked so go figure. Saw one guy lose his fight with a seal and several pinks dolphin 20 feet off the boat. Looks good for the next week or two.

Congrats on the fish. Was out wed night amongst the 40 other boats landed a 22 lost 3 but wasn't much in the mood as new at 2pm that my main was blown but didn't say much when I picked up some friends at 5pm at costalotta as they were so excited to get out didn't want to spoil there fun on the boat. Landed it just after sunset just out side the boundry

Cheers ME

Happy Hookin!!!

Hi all, my buddy's girlfriend landed a 33 1/2 pound Tyee rowing at the pool two days ago, with my good friend Mark Dobus on the sticks. Long time angler and her boyfriend Keith ended up skunked on the pool but they celebrated royally! Congrats Brenda <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
