Thought I would pass this along since Christmas is coming in the event anyone needs some more bling.
Cabela's has their 3-4 times a year Hometown Heroes event November 10-13. This is where they offer employee discounts to active military, veterans, Canadian Coast Guard, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel and conservation officers.
The discount depends on the individual product and the Cabelas brand usually has the best. I've found the discount averages up to 15-20% off. Sadly, the discount on downriggers is usually only about $20-30.
I'm not encouraging anyone to do it, but if you order through their customer service number and request the Hometown Heroes pricing, they will often honor it.
