Cabbage Island ?

We keep our boat in Point Roberts and would like to do more fishing this year. Is the area around Cabbage/Tumbo any good, what time of year, what area, any other suggestions... Active Pass?, Patos Island? Thanks for your input.

You can fish from the boat launch at the light house all the way around to Lily point. There is a shelf in front of the south side that drops off from like 30ft to 180 very quickly. I usually fish this area in the late summer for springs. Fish depths of 70-110 ft off this shelf with bait or spoons. Lily point has coho run by in big numbers but seem hard to catch. Pink fishing is also fun off of the lighthouse when they are there. Crabbing is spotty, check the regs. I have been almost run over by the over zealous fisheries officer out there so make sure that you know all the rules!!!

If you keep your boat in point and are up for running across the straight I would give thrasher rck a rub, out off Gabriola. Active can also produce, along the power lines.
