Perhaps what triggered this discussion is someone getting busted for either fishing the Race Rocks RCA or spooking the wild life in that area. There is a new Lighthouse keeper out there and he has a great knowledge on camera's and he is very good at using them. I have seen his work (photographs) as the DFO has shown it to me asking if I recognize the boats or the opperators.
So in summary the DFO enforcement guys are using cammeras and spotting scopes etc to aid them in catching the ignorant or the arogant but I for one will not believe they are funding a coast wide big brother system when they can't even fund more than four boats of which they have to carefully manage a fuel budget for. Also having been fairly involved in the SFAB program I believe the we would have been told of such things long before implementation.
