Black plactic Buckets

If you don't mind me asking, what do you use them for?
What actual size you looking for?

Does it have to be black??? As I get white ones from working in kitchens??? alot of restaurants will have them they are usually 20 litres.
At over 200 ft down I do you think black or white will matter much especially when we mostly use white plastic bait cups?????

If you think white is fine I think I may know where to get some let me know.

Good luck Wolf

You want 5 gal 23 liter buckets made by ROPAK they use for packing herring ~~~ they are the " ROPAK Y LOK buckets sold by the skid in Van @ commercial fishing outlets ~~~~They use to cost about $7 each when I built them traps years ago .

No just hinge and bungy to close like commercial ECVI bucket traps that were the standard.

Hey Paul
I got 4 of them complete.
Make me an offer if your interested. I'm in Sooke.

How much are you looking for. Can you tell me where you got them from do you get them from work with somthing else in them.

Paul

Ok, deals done.
Now may I ask a question.
Do those plastic bucket traps work, or work as well as the standard store bought traps?
I haven't seen those before.
Thanks

Don't think they work better or worse than the regular ss mesh type. The only diff I guess is when your $70 ss trap grows legs you cry a little harder vs. when your cheaper version of a prawn trap goes.

I have been using and making these traps for close to 12 years now. Yes it sucks when you lose 1, even when you lose a string of 4 (damn thiefs) but it only costs me less than 20 clams to make. I have made them in black or white, i even tried black and white just to test and i can tell you there is no differance, just remember there is only 1-3 % of light down at 400 feet. THey stack great though you need to be careful not to push them down or they will crack, they dont leave rust marks on the deck. And they will hold all the rope you use inside them.
