Fishing off Double Bay (back side of Hanson Island, near Telegraph Cove) today targeting Sockeye. Small pink hooch at 45' and hooked into this beauty - a 21 lb Spring. Was a real surprise for me!!

Also put a couple of Socks in the hold. Pretty good afternoon!

Nice work,sir!!

...but I don't think it's all that much of a fluke............Chinooks will definitely go after that gear.......

Who knew??? Having ridden a desk for 30 years and really only fished for the past few years, I'm relatively new to the game. I am learning, though, that if you're in the right spot at the right time with something in the water that some kind of fish finds attractive, it just may find its way into you're cooler.
And if you're offerings don't work on a particular day, well, the worst day on the water is always better than the best day in the office.
As an aside, saw a nice display of Orca power today as well as a humpback and a pod of dolphins. Really doesn't get much better!

Great attitude BB!

I used to guide in the alberni inlet and that is all I used. Use to slay them! still like that today(:

X2 Although I did not guide. MP hootchies in the pink to red hues with 40 - 44 inch leaders use to work for me. Largest fish caught on my boat in this manner was 44.4 lbs. I must admit a fish that size looks a little funny with such a small bait in it's mouth.

h.e.h.

This!!^^^ If I could only have 1 thing in my tackle box,it would be a MP 2 hootchie.I've caught every species of salmon
on it including a couple of nice Tyee. They really work well!
