On 'Leupold Customer Service':
Bought my late 60's vintage Remington (700) 30-06' from an old retired hunter back in the 90's. It had a same vintage (60's) Leupold 4-power scope on it with a post-reticle cross-hair set up that I just couldn't get used to and decided to contact Leupold to see if they could change out the X-hairs for a standard set. I explained to them on the phone what I wanted to do and they said - no guarantees - but they would have a look at it to see what they could do. They told me to put it in a box and mail it down to them in Oregon.
I did.
About a week later I received a letter from them telling me they had received the scope and that there shop was looking at it.
About 3-weeks later I received my scope back.
The work order read:
- general cleaning and disasembly.
- install new front glass & back glass.
- rework windage butt.
- install new reticle.
- install new seal kit.
- reassemble, test.
Amount due: $0.00
Thank you for owning a Leupold product!
Fact is, there are several other companies out there producing better glass for the money; but for me, buying my hunting bino's was a no-brainer.
They are not top-of-the-line Leupold's, but I am VERY happy with them.
