Best Way To Get From Edmonton Airport To Down Town Edmonton?

Cabs $60+, Shuttles $20+ each and there is 2 of us. Renting a car in cheaper but once you include one night parking at the hotel it's not. $30 for one night parking.

Anyone got ideas?
 
No hotel shuttle....
Taking a bus....ya right I have only been on a bus once since 1986
I would rent a car it's $12 a day. It's $30 to park it though. Like WTF? $30 to park over night.
 
Teleportation? Unfortunately, the "Edmonton" airport is in Leduc (almost). Shuttle is your cheapest option or upgrade to a hotel that has a free shuttle.
 
Already staying at one of the most expensive hotels in town and they don't offer a shuttle. Maybe I should down grade the hotel to a place with a shuttle...LOL

Have not gone to Edmonton in years but have to this Sunday. And I am not hunting or fishing :(
 
Owen-- have a look at the Days Inn chain.. there are several in Edmonton-- no parking fee, free brekie. Email them and I'll bet they are hooked in with the Airport Shuttle service.

I have stayed in Days Inns in BC Alberta, Quebec and Ontario and have had no complaints (other than the idiots that set off the fire alarm at 3 am in Ottawa when they lit a big birthday cake ( Hey!! That was the story they gave the fire department!!)

Some are fancy-- some not-- but clean and good value.
 
Rent a couple scooters..... bring them to the room. BBRRRRRRRRRR:D

Rent the car and park it some where other than the hotel. That airport is a long arse way from town. The cab you mentioned is a one way deal it will bring you into edmonton but to get back to the airport you have to hire from one of the edmonton firms. My wife paid $80 from kingsway mall to the airport 2 weeks ago.
 
Hoping to find me a eskimo......

Just hating having to drop all this money to go to my grandmothers furneral. Air fare was almost $700. Strange thing is that it only cost me $8 more to fly out of Comox then Vancouver.
 
Renting a car is your best bet in my opinion. Like people have mentioned the cab thing is a rip off since its so far out of town. It will only take one side trip.......like the one you found and the rental with be far more convinient and cheaper to boot!
