Best single cup coffee maker you have used?

I have always loved coffee from a bodum but now on septic I don't think I want to be dumping coffee grounds down there.

Any advice?

I fell in love with my Keurig Elite....For a 100 bucks it was one of the best purchases I made in a while considering my wife doesnt like coffee, and making a pot was a pain. Also the cups can be expensive, but my favorite is the timothy's colombian excellence from costco and you can get 80 cups for $40, which is about the best deal going and that colombian excellence is one smooth cup of joe.

Put the used coffee grounds in a compost pile.

X-2 I use the Keurig also and found it works very nicely on my boat. I use to take the regular perc model for my stove and tired quickly of cleaning coffee grounds and spilled coffee when out fishing halibut, it would get pretty rough at times. The Keurig is stable and does not tip and the grounds are in a neat little cup which reduces the messy garbage I have to pack back.

Keurig here too. Just picked it up a couple of months ago. Works great and somebody posted above about the deal at Costco for the cartridges. It's the cheapest way to run the thing.

It makes a good cup of coffee.

We have a keurig and an adapter so you can use your favorite ground coffee in but be careful because what used to make two cups in a regular drip maker makes one cup in the keurig. Anything less than one and a half scoops makes brown warm water.

What is in them cartridges? Powered milk? Freeze dried coffee? Sure it's quick and easy but what is really in that cup of coffee and what damage to the environment was done so you could have that convenience?

I use mine everyday, or every other day...Love it...If my wife drank coffee it would make sense to brew a pot, but I am he only one who drinks coffee, and it saves a ton of time and effort.

I thought about this as well so we bought the reusable adapter filter and use our own ground coffee. It cost around 14 bucks. The pre filled cups are around. 50 cents each.

My wife and I love our Kurig coffee maker. We don't buy the inserts we have the reusable cartridges, bought them online 3 for $15 if I remember now we can use our favourite coffee and never worry about wasting a pot. True they do use a little more coffee than a regular drip maker but 30 seconds for a cup rather than waiting 5 minutes for the pot is well worth it with a toddler running around at 7am.

I've always used the little Melita green cone that sits on top of your cup. Boil the kettle and pour over the grounds. Easy and CHEAP, just my style.

Those keurigs sound pretty good especially with the reusable filter.... but I would think washing it would still sending some gounds down into the septic field. I have been using the melitta cone filter that sits on top of the cup but a bit of pain..

I have the reusable keurig filter and for sure coffee grounds go down the drain. Not a lot, but some.

I have a Nueva Simonelli "Oscar" which I use every day. Easy to use, great latte's in the morning. The kicker is the price tag--new they are over $1000 but I bought mine used on Ebay out of the States for $450.

x2 on the compost pile and sticking with your bodum. If I am in a rush I just add some water to the grounds, swirl and chuck it on the lawn. Practice makes perfect.

Normally I dump the grounds into the kitchen compost bucket and some grounds go into my septic. Two year old system and it seems fine. Are coffee grounds an issue ? I thought hair was the killer of motorized septic systems.
