The bubba blade - I won one of those last year on the I-fish website. For me the blade is a bit stiff for most of my salmon fillet work. But I used it for carking tuna and I really liked it for that purpose. I didn't get a ton of tuna last year so the blade only saw maybe 30-ish fish (split between me and other fishers across several trips). The blade held up nicely and the teflon like coating held up well also. I stayed sharp even going through tuna skin many times.

For the money, dexter 8" wide is all you need for salmon.

Not at all and no offense meant SV. Just that raw cedar with deep grooves that hold lots of fish slime tends to be a good haven for bacteria.
