Morn'in gents;
I'm a new-be on this site and have a question about the tides. I will be heading thru the inside passage in June and have been studying the tides to traverse the rapids. I am showing the following tides on my nobeltec program. This is for June 7 at Yuculta, Cordero Channel:

High: 12:08 AM 15.2'
High: 04:15 AM 14.8'
Low: 2:22 PM 12.2'
High: 7:32 PM 15.8'

My question is: Where is the low tide between the two highs? Is this a normal series, as it lasts for several days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as everything I am reading is to traverse the rapids at slack tides as I have an 8 knot boat.

You want to go through the rapids near slack current, which is often timed quite differently from high or low tide. Best reference for BC is the tides and currents table book called Ports and Passes.

125.9.24W

Flood @ 2:06 4.5kn slack 4:37
Ebb @ 7:32 6.5kn slack 10:56
Flood @ 14:00 9.5kn slack 17:57
Ebb @ 21:05 6.7kn

2nd Program

Gillard Passage

Flood @ 2:15 4.12kn slack 4:31
Ebb @ 7:37 6.33kn slack 10:52
Flood @ 14:23 9.91kn slack 17:54
Ebb @ 21:25 6.97kn

Tides at Big Bay
Low @ 1:08 12.31 ft
High @ 4:06 13.18 ft
Low @ 12:14 2.73 ft
High @ 19:10 14.17 ft

Don't forget if you are looking to Traverse the 4 sets of Rapids in Cordero you will have to plan accordingly with your boat speed.
East to West Yuculta, Gillard, Dent and Greene Point.

Thanks for the info. I was planning on doing Arran Rapids and then pulling into an anchorage on Dent Island for the night before doing Dent and heading downstream. Is their any pros and cons as to using Arran versus using Yuculta and Gillsrd? I was planning on hitting Dent at the top of the tide and using the current to help heading west. Is it possible to do Dent and Greene point on the same tide. Plotting it, it looks like I would be into the ebbing tide about 1.5 hrs. Again, I will be running in a 45' eight knot boat. Also looking at traversing whirlpool rapids in wellbore channel. Any local info on those?

Greene is pretty much of a no-brainer, at least every time I've been through (maybe unless it's a big spring tide?). I'd guess you should be able to get on through it after Dent no sweat, but the current tables should tell you about how much you'll be dealing with. I've gone through Dent 1/2 hr early several times. Never tried Arran.
