Looking for accomodation and moorage only in Nootka.
From Critter to the outside is approx. 12 miles.
Are there any other options that are closer to the coast?
Thanks, tortuga.

Yes 11 miles is a bit of a haul but depending on the time of the season if its really rough off shore its sure nice to be able to fish all that protected water. The return of the 4 year olds this year should mean for some good inside fishing. Check out our new website www.goldriverfishinglodge.com depending on when your coming I may be able to save you up to 25% off.

Cheers ME

We are looking at doing the same thing this year.. A nephew of mine has stayed at Hois Point with his own boat for a couple years. I have looked at their web site but its not exactly loaded with info I am going to give them a call soon just to get the details. One thing that is nce about Hois is the fishing starts right out in front of the lodge.

Well I guess I am okay being a "girl", cause I only run offshore when I need too! And I guess I am a real "sissy", cause I am too old to do it in anything but my 30' Boston Whaler. But, maybe that is why I am getting old! :D

If they have the same 77cm limits as last year, which I am sure they will have. You won't be able to retain anything unless you go offshore or stay inside of Hoiss Point. Me, if I was staying in Nootka, I would be fishing Hoiss point or the Wall and stay close to my intended fishing grounds.

I am assumming you want to fish offshore everyday? If so, you are better off on the north end and yes give Doug @ Rodger's a try.

Now with that said, if you are really wanting a place closer to the outside in the Nootka area, try Nootka Island Fish Lodge. It's a nice place and they are located right at Friendly Cove: http://www.nootkaisland.com/index.htm

I also know of a floating fish camp on the south end of Bligh Island. It's called "Murray and Pete's fishing camp". I have never stayed there and don't know anything about them, but it looks pretty nice. I don't have any contact information, but the float is located at 49°38'1.00"N 126°32'11.88"W.

You're still going to have to get gas at Critter?

Thanks for the info guys (and girls :D)

Thats a good point Charlie re: fuel.
Talked to Doug, sounds like a fine option. Waiting on a call from Hoiss and ME.
180 more sleeps. See you on the water.

And I am bringing my skirt in case the fishing turns on inside.
