Area 23 & 123 Coho

Why is it that you can retain two hatchery or wild coho in Area 23 (Barclay Sound and Alberni Inlet) but only two hatchery fish once you move into Area 123 offshore. Also where exactly is this boundary?

If the area 123 opens for the retention of wild cohoes, there would be no cohoes comin' in Goldstream or could face extinction.

A couple years ago, I have seen a few 15-20 lb wild cohoes arrivin' in goldstream. that's a good news.

Thanks for the info and map just exactly wat I was looking for. I'm just learning how the charts work so I appreciate your help. No one would benefit from me keeping a coho in an area that I'm fishing that is closed. Especially since I'll be crossing the boundary several times per day. Better I check first. Next time you respond to a post I would suggest you leave out the condescending attitude as people can only benefit from being informed.

I landed 3 wild coho , biggest 13lbs at lyle point on the weekend. most fish are still on the outside sail island and effingham were good.

I have fished in Barclay Sound before but once with a friend and once on a charter. Yesterday was my maiden voyage in my own boat out to the sound. I have fished the inlet a few times however.
