Are there halibut on the inside in the Barkley Sound

HI all,

Heading over to the sound later this week with my dad to try for some halibut. The winds look quite high offshore for Friday and the weekend, are there places in the sound to fish for halibut and can stay out if the wind? TIA

Caught a 50lber about 6 years ago at stud island by diplock. Only one I’ve hooked in the sound while jigging. But I’m sure there are others around!

Caught one at Satellite Passage about 20 years ago while trolling at 50 feet. I guess the answer to your question is yes.

Yup, tasty ones lol. I don’t believe targeting them inside would be very productive and I know how lucky we were to get one.

Definitely there are no halibut near Barkley Sound everyone go elsewhere.
